Sarah


I started my career as a PE teacher in secondary schools and loved being a part of young people's physical development and learning what their bodies are capable of. As a qualified teacher I really enjoy the challenge of engaging those who don't believe they can do physical activity. Finding success and joy in movement to encourage a healthier lifestyle and building confidence was a great motivating factor for me in teaching which continues into my Pilates practice now.

I have always enjoyed being active myself and playing sport but only discovered Pilates after having my second baby. I needed an activity that helped my postnatal recovery and was low impact, so I gave it a try. I loved it! Following years of high impact, high energy exercise in the gym I was amazed to feel the strongest I have ever felt doing Pilates. It changed the way I exercise completely. I completed my training in Modern Pilates which takes a more clinical and functional approach to the practice of Pilates and I haven't looked back.

I specialise in pre and postnatal Pilates, offering mums-to-be and new mums the opportunity to exercise safely throughout pregnancy and in those months following birth. As a mum of 4 I love sharing both my expertise and experience with my clients. I continue to learn more effective teaching techniques and expand my knowledge by regularly completing CPD courses, most recently focusing on spinal conditions.

I am a big believer in concentrating on what your body CAN do and for those who are recovering from illness or injury, the progress you can make is remarkable.

Annie


I have been practising Pilates for over 15 years, starting just after my second child was born. Pilates not only helped improve my strength and mobility, but it also gave me the chance to reconnect with myself — time to breathe, move, and simply be me again.

I love how Pilates is both powerful and gentle: it strengthens the body while calming the mind. I also value the sense of community that grows in a class — moving together, sharing a laugh, supporting one another, and celebrating progress as a group.

In 2023, when I finally found the time, I decided to train as a Level 3 Pilates teacher so I could share the joy, confidence, and wellbeing I've experienced through Pilates with others. I teach my regular mixed ability class at The Studio on Tuesday evenings.

I'm passionate about movement and helping people of all ages and abilities find functional fitness through regular Pilates — and having a little fun along the way!



Dawn


I have been teaching fitness classes part time for nearly 30 years, teaching HIIT, Body Pump, Aqua Aerobics, and Aerobics (and yes, I did wear a leotard and leggings!). I attended a gateway course with Polestar Pilates and was hooked. I am now fully qualified in both mat and reformer Pilates and teach my regular mat Pilates class at The Studio for Beginners and Older Adults on Mondays at 10.45am.

I regularly attend an outdoor boot camp, do strength training and running, and I have noticed a real difference in my own body since regularly doing Pilates. I believe Pilates can enrich all aspects of your life no matter your age or fitness level.



Kiera


I teach both mat and reformer Pilates, and I am an exercise physiologist, sports scientist and health researcher. My love for mat Pilates started over 5 years ago and ever since it has been a constant in my life — something that I believe in both personally and professionally. I teach my regular mixed ability mat Pilates class at The Studio on Thursday evenings at 7pm.

I am extremely passionate about movement and sport — promoting it whilst delivering health education and participating in it through walking, practising Pilates, strength training, or playing football/GAA.

Mat Pilates helps to improve your posture, mobility, and core strength, and I can't wait to guide you through the movements at SR Pilates. All classes are suitable for mixed abilities: whether you are a complete beginner or have done Pilates before — I can't wait to see you on the mat!
